Selected quotes from the Jets' and Jaguars' locker rooms at MetLife Stadium following the Jets' 28-23 victory today:

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick on starting, playing and winning with his left thumb wrapped and gloved...

"We came into the game, doctors, trainers and everybody, with a great game plan in terms of how I was going to manage. It was great throughout the game. A number of times I was handing off with my left hand. It wasn't really a huge factor. A lot of that is just a credit to how we figured out how to do it throughout the week and I felt comfortable with it."

WR Brandon Marshall on Fitzpatrick's performance and leadership in the win...

"He's resilient and he's a great leader. It's not about if you can play Week 1 or Week 2 when everyone is healthy. There comes a point in the season when everyone is a little nicked up and banged up and can you continue to lead your team? Fitz did that today."

Jets coach Todd Bowles on if Marshall's production was affected more by his injuries or by the Jaguars' coverage...

"Everyone is going to be banged up at this point in the season. He just played football. They did a good job with some coverages. He did a good job fighting back. He's a warrior. He's not going to miss too much."

CB Darrelle Revis on what the Jets defense needs to improve on...

"There's always room for improvement. We'll get with the coaches tomorrow and see what we can get better at. I'll tell you what, though — there weren't that many missed tackles this week."

Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley on the Jets...

"I thought they played hard, came after it, made plays at critical times, and I appreciate how they played. I think we're a team that strives for consistent, never-ending improvement, is how we talk. And I think the big word is consistent. I think there are critical times, third downs, different situations, punt returns, they made more plays than us."

Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles on the Jaguars not making enough plays...

'Yeah, I think we put up a ton of yards, did a lot of good stuff, but it's the plays you missed out on that you think about at night."

LB Lorenzo Mauldin on if any of the three sacks he was involved in (one solo, two half-sacks) felt better than the others...

"No, I just had the same mindset going into every play, on every third down: Just go get Bortles."

Fitzpatrick on his 44-yard completion to TE Jeff Cumberland to set up the Jets' third TD...

"They made a check to our empty and I think they kind of blew the coverage a little bit. It was nice to see Jeff catch it and kind of take off. That was a big play, to kind of flip field position and get us going again as an offense."

Cumberland on his play and the Jets' win today...

"It was a team effort. There's going to be times throughout the year where everybody's going to have to step up in some kind of way and supply a spark. And today I was able to help a little bit."

C Nick Mangold on if he'll need to go for more tests on his sore neck, which knocked him out of the game...

"No, no more tests. Just need to give it the tender love that it requires."

P Ryan Quigley on going 4-for-4 on extra points because Nick Folk injured his quadriceps in pregame warmups...

"Anytime you go 100 percent, it's a good thing. But I just went out there with the idea that I was going to put them through. That was my mindset. I was going to make them."

Bowles on if this short week ahead will be emotional for those players who played for Bills coach Rex Ryan on the Jets from 2009-14...

"I don't think so. Coaches and players change teams all the time. The ones that are close to him, I'm sure they'll give him a hug before the game, shoot the bull a little bit. When the game starts, it'll be us against them."
