The Jets have re-signed RB Kene Nwangwu.
Last season, Nwangwu (6-1, 210) averaged 33.6 yards on his 18 kick returns including a 99-yard return for a score in a 27-20 win over the Browns on Nov. 9. He played in 12 games, appearing in 108 special teams snaps and 28 snaps on offense.
The Jets recorded an average starting field position of -39.6 after a Nwangwu kickoff return, the highest mark by any player over the last 10 seasons (since 2016) and the third-highest by any player this century behind only Chicago's Devin Hester and Rashied Davis (min. 10 attempts).
Since joining the Jets in 2024, Nwangwu has posted a 36.2 average on 21 kickoff returns, the highest mark in the league among the 108 players with 10 or more returns in that timeframe. Nwangwu is the 10th player in NFL history to record five kickoff return touchdowns within their first five seasons in the league. Nwangwu's five KR scores are the most by any player since he entered the league in 2021.
A fourth-round pick (No. 119 overall) of the Vikings in 2016, the Iowa State product has played 51 career games with the Vikings (37, 2021-23) and Jets (14, 2024-25).
