Walker-16x9

The Jets have re-signed linebacker Mykal Walker.

Walker, who has played six seasons in the NFL, was signed to the Jets' practice squad last Sept. 1. He was elevated to the active roster on Oct. 1 and appeared in 14 games (5 starts), taking 194 snaps on defense and an additional 306 snaps on special teams. He also logged 31 total tackles (9 solo), 1 TFL and 1 PD.

Walker, 28, was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round (No. 119 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Over his final two collegiate seasons at Fresno State, he finished with 182 tackles, 22.5 TFL, 10 PDs and 6.5 sacks.

Walker (6-3, 230) played three seasons for the Falcons, appearing in 49 games (20 starts) and grabbed 3 interceptions (1 that went for a TD that covered 66 yards) and added 187 tackles (104 solo), 5 TFL and 4 QB hits.

After being waived by the Falcons in August 2023, he was signed by Chicago but quickly waived before signing on to the Las Vegas practice squad. Waived again a month later, Walker was signed by Pittsburgh on Oct. 30 and appeared in 8 games.

He moved on to Washington in 2024, playing in 17 games with 21 tackles and a fumble recovery. Last March, he was signed to a one-year contract by Arizona but was among the team's final cuts before the start of the regular season.
