Yadira Arroyo's Sons Announce Jets' Round 4 Pick

Fallen Emergency Technician Was Honored Saturday

More than a month after tragically losing their beloved mother, three of Yadira Arroyo's five sons represented the Jets on the third day of the draft.   

A 14-year veteran of the FDNY who served as an emergency worker, Ms. Arroyo was killed on March 16th when she was struck by her own ambulance after the vehicle was stolen.  Sons Kenneth, Justin and Isiah Robles wore Jets jerseys Saturday with the No. 26, representing the Bronx firehouse where their mother worked and where they gathered Saturday.

They joined former Jets OL Willie Colon and Colon, a Bronx native, announced the pick of California WR Chad Hansen with the No. 141 overall selection.

"Honestly I feel great," Kenneth said. "It feels good seeing everybody here supporting us and everything the Jets are doing. Not only that, but the weather. It's been raining the last couple of days, but today is a nice day. Seeing everybody gathered around, it's cool."

Nine picks later, MTA officer Daniel McDade, the officer who stopped the man responsible for Arroyo's passing, announced the Jets' fifth-round pick: Clemson TE Jordan Leggett.

"She would've liked this," Kenneth said referring to his mother. "She would be happy about it."
