WR Mardy Gilyard Signed to Active Roster

The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Mardy Gilyard to the active roster, and wide receiver Eddie McGee and tackle Dennis Landolt to the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Gilyard (6'1, 187) entered the NFL as a 2010 fourth-round draft pick of St. Louis. In one season with the Rams, he caught six passes for 63 yards before he was waived following the 2011 preseason on Sept. 3.  Gilyard was claimed off waivers by the Jets the next day but was waived Sept. 10 prior to the season opener. He signed with Philadelphia on Jan. 6, was waived during the preseason on Aug. 31, then re-signed with the Eagles on Sept. 10 and played in six games before being waived Nov. 23.

In two NFL seasons, Gilyard has appeared in 17 games and has logged six receptions for 63 yards, 16 kickoff returns for a 22.3-yard average and two punt returns for a 7.5-yard average. He will wear number 16.

McGee (6'3", 210) joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Oakland on July 28, 2011. He spent the preseason with the Raiders before being waived Sept. 3 and signed the next day to their practice squad, where he spent the entire season. McGee re-signed with Oakland on Jan. 5 but was waived during the preseason on Aug. 31. He will wear number 88.

Landolt (6'4", 306) was an undrafted free agent signing of the New York Giants on April 20, 2010. In his career, he has spent time on the practice squads of the Giants, 49ers, Jets and Saints. This season he was on the Jets' active roster for three games before he was waived Sept. 24. He was signed to the Jets' practice squad three days later, then released Oct. 30. Landolt will wear number 76.
