HC Aaron Glenn confirmed that QB Tyrod Taylor will start on Sunday in Baltimore, and now the 15-year veteran is set to face the team that selected him in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

"It's a full circle moment, for sure," Taylor said Wednesday. "Thankful for my time in Baltimore. Learned a lot from the coaches there to the players within that locker room. Learned a lot about football, learned a lot about how to carry myself off the field as well, too. Just forever thankful for the four years that I spent there."

Taylor may have served as a backup to veteran QB Joe Flacco for the entirety of his time in Baltimore, but the experience kickstarted a lengthy and successful NFL career -- Taylor has played for 7 teams and appeared in 97 games (59 starts). And as he now prepares to make his second start for the Green & White this season, embracing the task at hand will be front of mind.

"Taking advantage of the opportunity is everything," Taylor said. "Just the opportunity itself, obviously [I'm] thankful for. But being able to go out there and lead this locker room, lead this offense in a way that represents what we talk about it daily in our meetings -- and in a way that I know I'm capable of doing -- It means the world to me."

As Taylor takes the offensive reins, he will aim to elevate an offense that has, at times, struggled to find a rhythm in the passing game this season. The veteran QB said that while the unit has shown flashes throughout the season, focusing on details could be key to consistent production.

"That's my approach this week -- executing at a high level and doing it consistently to put ourselves in the best position to go out and put points on the board each drive and ultimately win the game," he said. "… At the end of the day, it's about getting the job done from the win column."

Taylor nearly led the Jets to a win in his first start this season. The Green & White took a 1-point lead late in a Week 3 battle with Tampa Bay, but the team ultimately fell after the Buccaneers converted a game-winning FG attempt. Taylor -- who was 26-of-36 passing for 197 yards, with 2 TDs and 1 INT in that contest -- could look to integrate some new offensive weapons in Baltimore.

"There's some new faces on offense, some pieces that moved around," he said, referring to WRs Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie III. "But ultimately, it's about getting on the same page with everyone. Whether that's staying later, communicating, just getting on the same page. So, when we take our practice reps to the field, we can trust one another and go out there and play free."

Taylor, who said it's a "kid's dream" to still be taking the field all these years later, will look to lead the Green & White to a win against an opponent that played a key role in his pro journey.

"I'm just thankful for the opportunity," Taylor said, adding: "I take tremendous pride in getting things right and doing things the right way, day in and day out, to be able to take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves."
