Spencer Placed on Reserve/NFI List

The New York Jets announced they have placed LB Cody Spencer on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list for the remainder of the season. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Spencer (6'2", 245), in his fourth NFL season, signed with the Jets on Sept. 27, 2006. He appeared in one game this season and 13 in his two years with the Jets, and has 40 special teams tackles in 36 career games. He was originally a sixth-round pick by Oakland out of North Texas in the 2004 NFL Draft, and signed with the Tennessee Titans during the 2004 season after he was released by the Raiders.
