New York Jets Announce Coaching Changes For 2007 Season

The New York Jets announced the following additions and changes to their 2007 coaching staff: Mike MacIntyre was named Secondary Coach; Dan Quinn was named Defensive Line Coach; Brian Daboll was named Quarterbacks Coach; Sal Alosiwas named Head Strength and Conditioning Coach; Jerome Hendersonwas named Assistant Secondary Coach in addition to his current responsibilities as Director of Player Development; Denny Marcin was signed to a contract extension as a Defensive Assistant Coach. The moves were announced by Head Coach Eric Mangini.

MacIntyrejoins the Jets after four years as an assistant coach with the Cowboys, where he coached the safeties in 2006. He also coached in college at Mississippi (1999-2002), Temple (1997-98), Tennessee-Martin (1993-96), Davidson (1992) and Georgia (1991).

Quinnjoins the Jets after two years coaching the Miami Dolphins' defensive line and as a Defensive Coach for four years with the San Francisco 49ers (2001-2004). He coached the defensive line at Hofstra University (1996-2000), including the 2000 season as Defensive Coordinator.

Daboll joins the Jets after seven seasons with the New England Patriots (2000-06), the last five coaching the Patriots' wide receivers. Daboll started with the Patriots on the defensive side of the ball, after working as a Graduate Assistant at Michigan State (1998-99).

Alosireturns to the Jets after a year as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Atlanta Falcons. Alosi was an assistant in the strength and conditioning department for the Jets for four years (2002-05). A native of Massapequa, Long Island, Alosi was a linebacker at Hofstra University before starting his coaching career at his alma mater (2001).

Hendersonbegins his first season as Assistant Secondary Coach for the Jets. He joined the Jets in 2006 as Director of Player Development, a title he will retain in 2007.

Marcin is in his fourth season with the Jets and his 11th year as an NFL coach.
