Moran Returns, Ayat Departs

The New York Jets have re-signed guard Dominic Moran and waived kicker Justin Ayat. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Moran (6'5", 303) originally signed with the Jets as a rookie free agent on May 12, then was waived July 23. He started 36 games on the offensive line at Western Michigan.

Ayat (5'11", 205) signed with the Jets as a free agent July 24. The 2004 Hawaii graduate was successful on 191 of 209 extra point attempts and converted 59 of 89 field goal attempts, including a career-long 56-yarder, in his college career.
