Mangini Teams Up With USA Football

New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini has joined USA Football, the sport's national governing body on youth, high school and international amateur levels, as a coaching program advisor and spokesperson.

Mangini, 36, has been a part of three Super Bowl championships, three AFC titles and five AFC East crowns in a young and impressive 13-year NFL coaching career.

Mangini bolsters USA Football's progressive coaching program, helping coaches to teach the youth and amateur game and to create a positive experience for players, parents and fellow coaches. The Hartford, Conn., native offers guidance to USA Football members through online coaching courses at Also on the website is a USA Football video testimonial from the Jets coach.

USA Football offers the following to help coaches enhance their skills:

  • Single-day coaching schools conducted in partnership with NFL clubs. Eighteen schools in 2007 drew a total of 4,000 coaches, benefiting about 100,000 youth players.
  • Two levels of coaching courses at, implementing 2-D and 3-D animation. Besides football, the courses include insight on communication with players, parents and coaches.
