Selected quotes from the Jets' and Giants' locker rooms at MetLife Stadium following the Jets' 32-31 road loss Saturday night:

Head coach Todd Bowles on the Jets' play...
"In the first half, we can't turn the ball over, obviously. We gave them about 16 points on offense and we were out of our gaps two times on defense that let them get some big runs. But I'm proud of the way they fought back in the second half. Petty played well in the second half. He came in, made some throws. He rallied the troops, they rallied around him, and he had a good ballgame."

Bowles on Hackenberg's first half and on the final drive to the touchdown...
"I'm proud of the way he came back in the second half. He threw a touchdown and got us down there. He learned some things in the first half that he can get better from, as well as some of the other guys on offense, and we'll go from there."

QB Christian Hackenberg on if he feels he's on the right path...
"You need to be able to take the good, take the bad, learn from the bad, build on the good, and just keep your head up and push through things because it's not always going to be peaches and cream. You have to be able to bounce back from mistakes and things that didn't go your way. I think that's really what defines you as a player and as a person, too, how you react to adversity."

Hackenberg on how difficult it was to come back in late in the game after Bryce Petty was injured...
"We were just hanging out for a little bit. It's part of the deal, it's part of the game. You have to be ready, so it's something that happened and you had to go and do that."

QB Bryce Petty on if he felt discouraged having to leave the game with his knee injury...
"Yeah, you know, shoot, man, that's unfortunate. But you know what? Things happen and you got to roll with it and keep your head up. There is always a plan with everything. I know I'm in good hands and you know we'll come back. Hopefully be good for next week."

QB Josh McCown on if it would be beneficial for him to play Thursday vs. Philadelphia...
"That will be up to Coach. We'll see. My focus will be on whatever comes up this week and then on to Buffalo and getting ready to go when it counts. That will be the main focus. If I'm asked to play this week, I'll go out and do the best I can. That's the way I'll approach it."

McCown on how he felt when he saw Petty down on the first play of the Jets' last drive...
"Heartbroken. You're just getting so excited and then you look back and see somebody down and you never want to see it happen, especially a guy in your room. It pulls at your heart."

Giants head coach Ben McAdoo on considering the Jets' defensive line a good test for the Giants' offense...
"Very good, yes. They're very good on the defensive front, not just the defensive line. Their linebackers are very good. They're a stout front, they have young safeties that run and fly around, and this was a tremendous challenge for our offensive front."
