Selected quotes from the Jets' and Dolphins' locker rooms at MetLife Stadium following the Jets' 38-20 victory on Sunday afternoon:

Head coach Todd Bowles on the Jets "getting back to basics"...

"We did. We looked more like we did the first five games of the season. We played our brand of football and we have to continue to do that."

LB Demario Davis on performing well on a special day for the team...

"It was a big day for the Jets organization, guys getting officially inducted into the Ring of Honor and stuff. So to be able to perform well with that going on, it's a good day for the Jets."

DE Sheldon Richardson on if the Jets played like a playoff team in the win...

"We played Jets football today. That's something we try to do every game. Usually when we stop the run, we have games like this. We were able to cause turnovers — I finally caused one. Just great team ball."

WR Brandon Marshall on Devin Smith responding to last week's tough game with his first pro touchdown reception today...

"We're all interconnected. We're in it together. We're only as good as our weakest link. He's been down and it just hasn't happened for him. I just know how good he can be. We saw that in camp. ... Him making the play he got hurt on was a spectacular play. And if he can do that, he's going to take my job soon."

Smith on dropping a touchdown catch last week...

"I was very upset with myself because I made that catch a ton of times. I was hanging my head a little bit. But I knew hard work and listening to my teammates would pay off someday, and that was today."

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick on if he will be trimming his beard every week now that last week's trim preceded a slump-busting victory today...

"No, I don't think so. It was just a little long. But I need it to grow in a little more. I kind of miss it."

Jeremy Kerley on his career-high 96 yards on six punt returns, his most productive game in five years as the Jets' main punt returner...

"We had a good day blocking. I can't take a lot of credit for it. I'm just there. I'm just a runner. All I'm trying to do is take advantage of every opportunity I can get."

Miami interim head coach Dan Campbell on if he's seen progress in his Dolphins since taking over in Game 5...

"I do, I see progress. Now after what happened today, I don't have a leg to stand on. There's nothing I can say that's going to make that look any better. We got whipped. We got whipped the first time, we got whipped the second time. Those are the facts."

QB Ryan Tannehill on the Dolphins being 0-5 in AFC East games...

"It's mind-blowing, it's frustrating, it's disappointing. It's tough to find enough words to describe it. I think it's hard to take a realistic look at where we're at and see why we're here. It's hard, but it's on us."

New Dolphins DE Quinton Coples (no tackles, one QB hit) on if he was surprised at being released by the Jets last Monday...

"No, it's part of the business. I wasn't playing and this game is all about production. At the end of the day, I wasn't playing so I wasn't producing. Therefore that call was going to be made at some point."

Bowles on if the atmosphere around the Jets will change this week because they're playing their stadium mates, the Giants, "on the road" next Sunday...

I don't think so. It's a big game regardless. They have to win, we have to win. That's what the NFL makes the schedule for, to come down to these types of ballgames. We just have to show up and do what we do."

Fitzpatrick on comparing Jets-Giants to Harvard-Yale...

"The biggest thing of the Harvard-Yale game is that when you play football at Harvard, you usually don't go on to play anywhere else, so for the seniors, that's the last football game they'll ever play. Because of the rivalry and also because of it being the last game for 30 guys, it was always a huge one. Hopefully this next one isn't our last one ever, but we're definitely looking forward to it."
