Selected quotes from the Jets' and Broncos' locker rooms following the Jets' 23-0 shutout loss at Sports Authority Field at Mile High this afternoon.

Jets head coach Todd Bowles on what happened in the game...
"They had a good game plan. They outcoached us, they outplayed us, they outhit us. They beat us in every phase. We didn't play smart and we didn't execute. You don't explain it. They made plays, they executed, and they did a good job."

Bowles on if this game was a setback to his program...
"It's not a setback. It's a loss. We haven't been beat like this since the Raiders. All losses hurt, obviously. When you don't score and you get beat 23-0, that hurts. It hurts every time you lose. But it's not a setback, it's a loss. We'll regroup and we'll get ready for New Orleans."

QB Josh McCown on his feeling about the loss and about breaking his left hand in the third quarter ...
"It just sucks. We started slow, we were trying to get back going, guys are fighting. And you know when you can't be out there for your guys. I think that's the hardest thing. So it's just disappointing. You know, I just hate that it went this way."

McCown on having said earlier that this has been his best pro season and what will happen now with his injury ...
"It's been the best because of the guys. It's not the numbers. It's been the best because of the group of men in the locker room. ... I'm just proud to be a part of it. I'm so thankful they let me be part of this team and we'll see what happen. But you know if I can finish, I'd love to finish, and we'll see what the tests say."

Bryce Petty on what he saw and what McCown told him he saw from the Broncos that made it so hard for the Jets' offense to produce ...
"Sometimes you've got to create and when you're a young team or haven't had that experience yet in understanding how to create, sometimes you've got to go find it. Like anything else, experience is through living it out. We'll find it. That's what next week's for. We'll have another chance to go do it."

WR Jermaine Kearse on McCown's injury...
"I mean, it's big. He's done a great job of staying healthy throughout the season, and unfortunately, he got caught one time. We've just got to move on from here. Next man up is the situation."

Jets DL Steve McLendon on the Jets' problems on the road, where their record fell to 1-5...
"When you go on the road to a hostile environment, the one thing you have to pay attention to is details. We knew exactly what they were going to do. I am not going to say it is embarrassing. I take my hat off to them first and foremost. The biggest thing that we have to do on the road is continue to play smart and play with that same passion and energy that we play with at home. This is the way I think of it: When they are booing or when they are cheering, just put it in your head that they are doing it for you. That is what you have to do."

Jets C Wes Johnson on the Jets being able to put this game behind them...
"I'd ride with our team, no doubt. I have no doubts about us."

Denver coach Vance Joseph on getting the win to end his team's eight-game losing skid...
"We knew if we played clean football, it could look like that. ... We were plus two in turnovers today. That's huge. The field position, our average start was 40 and theirs was 20. It's really a flip game of what we've seen in the last two months. [Offensively] Our plan was to run the ball efficiently on first and second down and to keep the third downs manageable. If not, punt the ball back. It's the formula we set out to accomplish and it worked. It worked perfectly."

RB C.J. Anderson on the Broncos' commitment to the run despite the Jets' run defense...
"That way you can keep the defense honest. Also, in 20-some touches, you never know when you're going to pop one. ... When you run the ball, and we try to establish the run, we're going in with a certain mindset and the offensive line is going in with a mindset saying, 'One big pop will deflate the defense.' Give credit to the Jets because they did a good job against that. But we got the 'W' so that's all that matters."
