Selected quotes from the Jets' and Bills' locker rooms at New Era Field following the Jets' 21-12 opening-day loss...

Jets head coach Todd Bowles on his message to the team after today's loss...
"Oh-and-one doesn't definite us. I mean, if we lost the game, I've got to give those guys credit. They made the plays, we didn't. We're not going to hang our heads. We're going to get ready and make our corrections on our mistakes that the game really showed us."

Bowles on if the youth of his team was responsible for some of the mistakes today...
"Well, it wasn't all youth. There were coaching mistakes and there were playing mistakes, so we're all involved."

Jets QB Josh McCown to reporters about leaning on his experience to keep his young teammates up despite the loss...
"Absolutely. I know from y'all's perspective, when you look from the outside in, there's a narrative that you feel about this team. But when you're in it and when you're competing, you don't feel that. That's not how we approach it. So we're disappointed, absolutely, but we plan on responding."
McCown on a telling moment about how his teammates handled all the different things coming together for the offense in the past week...
"There's a cool moment in the locker room when you come in before the game and these guys are in their books, they're looking, they're studying. ArDarius Stewart was over there studying. They handle all of this well, considering all of the moving parts we have because of personnel, so I'm proud of them for that."

Jets DL Leonard Williams on if the Bills showed his defense anything out of the ordinary...
"They ran exactly what we thought they were going to. We watched them on film. We know they run lateral, we know McCoy hits backside on the run plays, we know Tyrod can create plays with his legs. ... We weren't doing our job by containing when we needed to and staying in our gap when McCoy had the ball. The little details we're going to correct this week."

DL Muhammad Wilkerson on if the Jets were too hyped up for this opener...
"I don't think we were too overhyped. Like I said, credit to them. They made plays, we just didn't make enough. We just want to watch film, correct what we need to correct, and move forward. Get ready for Oakland, which is another tough opponent, so we know we've got our hands full this week as well."

Jets rookie S Jamal Adams on making the start alongside fellow rookie Marcus Maye...
"It feels good. We came out and we competed hard, but we didn't get the W, so that's what we're shooting for, that's what we want. It's definitely not a good feeling when you come out with a loss."

Buffalo RB LeSean McCoy on reaching 12,000 career yards from scrimmage during the game...
"Just got to keep pushing, man, keep pushing, get more wins. With wins, numbers come with it. And that's the mindset, man. Just trying to lead this team in the right direction."

Bills coach Sean McDermott on getting the win in his first game as an NFL head coach...
"I feel good, I feel good. Very thankful, very thankful. Thank God for the win. Praise God. That was a great team victory. ... Like I said, it was an entire building win."

Buffalo S Micah Hyde on the late interception of Josh McCown..."To be honest, I didn't believe it at first. I was like, there was no way he was throwing this ball. I thought it was a double move and that was going to be on me. But he ended up throwing it and I had a break on it."
