The Jets have signed running back Lache Seastrunk and have waived/injured RB Matthew Tucker.

Seastrunk (5'10", 201), whose first name is pronounced "Lake," was the sixth-round selection (No. 186 overall) by Washington out of Baylor in the 2014 draft. He was a 1,000-yard rusher for the Bears in both 2012 and '13, and in '13 (in the same backfield as QB Bryce Petty), he ran for 1,177 yards at 7.4 yards/carry, both the top figures in the Big 12 that season.

He was a final cut of the Redskins in 2014, then was signed to the Carolina and Tennessee practice squads later that season. He was with Dallas for two months of the offseason in 2015. He has yet to play in an NFL regular-season game.

Seastrunk has demonstrated big-play ability, such as when he ran for an 80-yard touchdown for Baylor in the upset of then-No. 1 Kansas State in 2012 and when he took a screen pass from Colt McCoy 80 yards in the 'Skins' 2014 preseason finale vs. Tampa Bay.

Tucker was signed by the Jets on Aug. 4 after spending time on the Eagles' roster from 2013 into the 2016 offseason. He did not dress for the Jets' preseason-opening win over the Jaguars on Thursday.
