Jets Sign WR Brad Smith

The New York Jets announced today they have signed their fourth-round selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, wide receiver Brad Smith. The announcement was made by Jets' General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Smith, a 6-2, 210-pound product of the University of Missouri, was selected in the fourth round with the 103rd overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft. Smith spent his four years at Missouri playing quarterback for the school and finished his career with 13,088 yards of total offense and holds the school records for rushing touchdowns, with 42 and passing touchdowns, with 56.

Smith is the only player in NCAA history with 8,000 yards passing and 4,000 yards rushing. He also becomes the only player to twice throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season, when he accomplished the feat in his freshman and senior years, just missing again in his sophomore year.
