The Jets have signed DB Tre Brown, OL Marquis Hayes and WR Quentin Skinner to the active roster. The team also elevated QB Hendon Hooker to the active roster for a Week 17 matchup with the Patriots.
Brown (5-10, 185), who was elevated for Weeks 14-16, was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 11. The Oklahoma product has played 10 special teams snaps for the Jets this season. A fourth-round draft selection of the Seahawks in 2021, Brown appeared in 39 games (13 starts) across 4 seasons in Seattle, recording 74 tackles, 8 pass defenses and 2 INTs. Brown signed with the San Francisco 49ers in March, but he was placed on injured reserve in August before being released with an injury settlement in September. Brown then signed with the Los Angeles Rams and appeared in 5 games, playing 60 snaps on special teams. He was released by the team on Oct. 28.
Hayes (6-5, 318) was initially signed by the Jets in June and spent the summer with the team. After he was waived during roster cuts in August, he was signed to the practice squad. A seventh-round draft selection of the Arizona Cardinals out of Oklahoma, Hayes has not appeared in a regular season game during his pro career. He spent the first of his three seasons in Arizona on injured reserve, and he also had a stint with the Commanders' practice squad last season.
Skinner (6-5, 195) was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas in May. He led the Jets with 114 receiving yards in preseason competition and was signed to the practice squad after roster cuts in August. Over 38 games at Kansas from 2022-24, he had 80 receptions for 1,584 yards and 11 TDs.
Hooker (6-3, 220) was signed to the Jets' practice squad on Dec. 18. A third-round draft selection of the Detroit Lions in 2023, Hooker did not play during his rookie season while he recovered from an ACL injury. The 27-year-old, who played collegiately for Virginia Tech and Tennessee, appeared in 3 games for the Lions in 2024. He was waived by the Lions in August and signed with the Carolina Panthers' practice squad. Hooker was released by Carolina on Nov. 4.
