The New York Jets announced Saturday that they have signed safety Jamie Thompson to the active roster from the practice squad. The announcement was made by Jets' General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Thompson, 6-0, 192, was originally signed by the Jets on May 13, 2006 as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State. He was waived Sept. 2 and signed to the practice squad Sept. 3. He started the final game of the preseason, recording two tackles.
Thompson was a three-year letterwinner for Oklahoma State. He finished his collegiate career with 181 tackles, eight-and-a-half sacks and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
