The New York Jets announced the following roster moves: signed offensive lineman Ed Blanton to the active roster, signed defensive back Alfonso Hodge and offensive lineman Charles Missant to the practice squad, placed defensive back Jamie Thompson on Injured Reserve due to a foot injury, and released defensive back Andre Maddox from the practice squad. The announcements were made by Jets' General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Blanton (6-9, 330 lbs.) was originally signed by the Jets as a rookie free agent on May 12, 2006 and he signed to the Jets' practice squad Sept. 3. Blanton was a three-year starter for UCLA and earned Pac-10 honorable mention as a senior in 2005.

Hodge (5-10, 203 lbs.) was originally drafted in the fifth round out of Miami (OH) by Kansas City in 2005. He was then released and signed to the practice squad in September, 2005. Hodge signed to the active roster in November, 2005 but was inactive for the final six games.

Missant (6-3, 295 lbs.) was originally signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent on April 10, 2005 and released prior to the regular season. He re-signed with the Jets on January 9, 2006 and was allocated to NFL Europe. Missant was waived by the Jets on Sept. 2, 2006.
