The Jets have signed cornerback Juston Burris, tackle Brandon Shell and punter Lachlan Edwards, their first three draft choice signings ahead of the rookie minicamp at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center that begins Friday.

Burris is the team's fourth-round selection, 118th overall, in last weekend's draft. He was a three-year starter through his redshirt senior season at North Carolina State, recording six interceptions and 31 pass breakups in his Wolfpack career.

Of the 44 passes targeted to receivers he was covering last season, only one went for a touchdown and only 15 (34.1%) were completed.

Shell, the great nephew of Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Shell, was selected after the Jets traded next year's fourth-round pick for Washington's No. 5 (158th overall) this year. He's the big yet durable 6'5", 324-pounder who held down right tackle for three seasons before shifting to the left side as a redshirt senior last year for South Carolina. In his last four years with the Gamecocks, he played in all 52 games, started 48, and started the last 47 — the second-longest consecutive-starts streak in Gamecocks history.

Edwards is the team's first of two seventh-round draft choices on Saturday, the 235th overall choice which the Jets acquired from Denver (which acquired it from Houston, which acquired it from St. Louis) in the predraft trade for LT Ryan Clady.

Edwards punted for Sam Houston State for three seasons. He shared the punting duties in 2013, then took over the Bearkats job the next two seasons, posted gross averages of 42.3, 44.1 and 41.5 yards in his three seasons and dropping a career-high 31 of last year's 74 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line.

Anderson Waived

WR Joe Anderson, the reserve future signing in January out of Texas Southern, has been waived. He had been with Chicago and Philadelphia prior to coming to the Jets.
