The Jets have re-signed outside linebacker Brandon Copeland.

Copeland had a career year in 2018 as his 47 tackles, 20 quarterback hits, three pass defenses and five sacks were all personal bests. He's one of five Ivy League players in NFL history to register five sacks since 1982 when sacks became an official statistic. The fifth-year veteran played in all 16 games last year after missing the 2017 season due to a pectoral tear.

The 6'3", 263-pounder originally signed with the Ravens after the 2013 draft before joining the Titans practice squad. The Penn product then played with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League before signing with the Lions in 2015. In two years with Detroit, Copeland recorded 30 tackles and one forced fumble in 32 games (one start).
