The Jets have placed DB Kris Boyd on injured reserve.
Boyd (5-11, 201) sustained a shoulder injury during the team's Green & White practice on Aug. 2.
Boyd, who has been a core special teams player for most of his career, signed with the Jets in March. The seventh-year player appeared in all 17 games for the Texans last season. He took 365 snaps on special teams, the second most on the team, and 48 snaps on defense.
Originally drafted by the Vikings in the seventh round out of Texas in 2019, Boyd played four seasons with Minnesota and totaled 95 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 3 pass defenses on defense over 636 snaps. He led the team in special teams snaps with 302 during the 2019 season as a rookie and 403 in the '22 season.
