Rookie Linebacker Has 21 Days to Be Added to Active Roster

The Jets are opening their 21-day practice window on LB Ja’Markis Weston, the athletic 6-2, 235-pounder who was signed as an undrafted free agent after six versatile seasons at Florida.

Weston was placed on Injured Reserve with a designation to return on Aug. 26. Weston played 60 preseason snaps (33 defense, 27 special teams) and turned in a ST fumble recovery deep in Packers territory that led to a field goal in the Jets' 30-10 win in their preseason opener at Green Bay.
