The Jets' defense delivered Sunday, applying pressure that limited the Denver Broncos to just 13 points. But offensively, the Green & White struggled to find a rhythm and the team was unable to capitalize on opportunities to put points on the board.

"It wasn't good enough, and it starts with me," QB Justin Fields said. "I've got to get the ball out. They have a good D-line, they got to the backfield fast."

The Broncos entered the Week 6 matchup leading the league with 21 sacks, and the unit on Sunday added 9 more to its tally. The Jets struggled to sustain drives and stay on the field, finishing the game with 82 net offensive yards. The unit was 2 of 15 on third-down attempts.

"Our passing game was nonexistent," HC Aaron Glenn said. "That's something we've got to get better at. Those guys did a great job of pressuring our quarterback, and they're a team that pressures quite a bit, so we knew that going in. It was tough."

RB Breece Hall added: "We've just got to a better job of executing. We've got to do a better job of giving No. 7 [Fields] time to process and throw the ball. I felt like he got hit too many times there, and that's got to be better from the O-line and the backs. We definitely could've protected him better today."

WR Garrett Wilson was limited to 3 catches for 13 yards Sunday after battling a Denver secondary that features reigning Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II, while the Jets' offensive line was faced with a tough battle in the trenches -- Denver OLB Nik Bonitto entered Week 6 leading the NFL with 7 sacks; he added 1 more against the Jets.

"The O-line had to deal with a tough front up there, they do a good job on defense over there," Wilson said. "It's not always going to be as simple as, I'm open, I get the rock. So, I would just say -- knowing the plan we have in totality, and just kind of staying and waiting and being ready for your moment if it does come."

Though Fields acknowledged Denver's strong coverage and pressure up front, OL John Simpson stressed the importance of finding a way to execute at a higher level regardless of the talent level of the opposition.

"I feel like that's on us as a unit, we've just got to better," Simpson said. "At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what they throw at us -- we've got to be able to pick it up. I feel like we could've done better out there today. We can't let that happen. We've got to focus on us and get better this week."

The Jets were unable to find the end zone in the loss, but K Nick Folk converted 3 FGs and a Denver penalty in the end zone resulted in a safety. Fields stressed the importance of playing more complementary football, and Simpson said the unit will look to rediscover its identity.

"I feel like that showing out there wasn't who we are, isn't who we are," Simpson said. "And I think we've just got to put our DNA out there. We've just got to keep continuing to build on what we're good at and what we can do and just execute those things at a high level."
