Trade-16x9

The Jets continued to stay busy before the NFL's trade deadline, acquiring a 2027 first-round pick and a 2026 second-round pick and DT Mazi Smith from the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for DT Quinnen Williams.

After playing collegiately at Michigan, Smith was a first-round selection of Dallas (No. 26 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. Smith (6-3, 337) appeared in 39 games for Dallas from 2023-25 and had 57 tackles, 7 TFL and 2 sacks.

Williams (6-3, 303), in his seventh NFL campaign, started eight games this season for the Green & White and had 32 tackles (17 solo), 7 TFL and 1 sack.

A first-round pick (No. 3 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft, Williams is a three-time Pro Bowler (2022-24) and was a first-time All-Pro in 2022. Over 98 games with the Green & White, Williams made 94 starts and registered 322 tackles, 59 TFL and 40 sacks.

Earlier Tuesday, the Jets acquired WR Adonai Mitchell and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 from the Colts in exchange for CB Sauce Gardner.

After those two deals, the Jets now own 2 first-round picks (NYJ and IND) in 2026 and 3 first-rounders in 2027 (NYJ, DAL and IND). The Green & White also have 2 second-round selections next April (NYJ and DAL).
