The New York Jets have placed linebacker Larry Izzo on injured reserve. The team has also signed linebacker Josh Mauga and center Michael Parenton to the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Izzo (5'10", 225) was signed as an unrestricted free agent on March 11. In his first season with the Jets he recorded 18 special teams tackles, bringing his career total to 275 in 200 games. Prior to joining the Jets, he played for the Patriots from 2001-08 and the Dolphins from 1996-2000.

Mauga (6'1", 243) was originally signed by the Jets on Aug. 17, then waived Sept. 5. Mauga was a four-year starter at Nevada who as a senior totaled 54 tackles, 7.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks.

Parenton (6'2", 287), signed by the Jets on May 1, was with the team through training camp until being waived Sept. 5. He started 46 games for Tulane, spending last year at center after playing left guard as a junior, center as a sophomore and right guard as a freshman.
