The New York Jets have signed running back Chauncey Washington from the Dallas practice squad. The announcement was made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Washington (5'11", 222) has spent time on the Cowboys' active roster and practice squad this season. He was drafted by Jacksonville in the seventh round of the 2008 draft (213th overall) out of Southern Cal before being waived on Sept. 5 this year. In six games with the Jaguars, Washington had nine rushes for 9 yards, one reception for 9 yards and three special teams tackles.
Washington will wear uniform No. 32 with the Jets.
