2017 Schedule: Opponent Notes

Jets Will Kick Off the 2017 Slate at Buffalo on Sept. 10

2017-Opponents_story-top.jpg

We are amidst one of the busiest fortnights of the NFL offseason. Monday morning, Jets players returned to the Atlantic Health Training Center to begin Phase One of this year's voluntary offseason workout program. From April 27-29, this year's draft will be held in Philadelphia. Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan will conduct his annual predraft news conference in the days leading up to the draft.

We now know the full 2017 regular-season schedule after its release on Thursday.

We know that the schedule strength of the 16 games against 13 opponents is a robust .535 winning percentage, stronger than last year's .531 and the strongest since the .568 of 2009. But factor out the home-and-home against their three AFC East foes and the remaining 10 games present a less imposing .469 schedule strength.

We know the Green & White will travel 16,480 round-trip miles to away games, including Oakland and Denver — their longest stretch of road since 2015 and second-longest since 2010.

We know the Jets will play both teams that played in the previous season's Super Bowl (New England and Atlanta) for the first time since they took on Dallas and Buffalo in 1993 after those two met in SB XXVII, and that they will play seven games in all against playoff teams.

Here are some facts, figures and trivia involving the Jets' opponents in 2017:
