As New Yorkers rang in the New Year, Jets outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu began his offseason with a former teammate who will be the focus of the upcoming season of ABC's The Bachelor. Attaochu and Colton Underwood, the star of the 23rd installment of ABC's The Bachelor, took to Instagram to post pictures posing together in Time Square, New York City earlier this week.
The two overlapped during their time with the San Diego Chargers in 2014. Attaochu, who played for Georgia Tech, was drafted by the Chargers in the second round of the 2014 Draft. Underwood, an undrafted free agent that played tight end at Illinois State, signed with the Bolts a month later.
Attaochu ended up playing four years with the Chargers, racking up ten sacks and 68 tackles. But the 6'3", 255-pound Underwood never played in an NFL game. Attaochu signed with the Jets in March and finished his first Green & White campaign with two sacks and nine tackles.
Underwood first appeared as a contestant on Season 14 of The Bachelorette with then-Bachelorette Becca Kufrin. Following his season with Kufrin, the former NFL tight end appeared on Bachelor in Paradise, having left the show with no luck. Underwood was then chosen as Season 23's The Bachelor which premiers in January of 2019.
