Thanksgiving Halftime Will Feature Rock of Ages

The Jets announced today that the cast of the smash hit musical Rock of Ages will perform live at halftime of the Jets-Bengals game at New Meadowlands Stadium on Thursday night, Nov. 25, the first game the Jets have ever hosted on Thanksgiving night.

The halftime show will feature the performance of three classic rock songs — "I Wanna Rock," "Nothing But A Good Time" and "Don't Stop Believin'."

The team also announced that followers* *of @nyjets, the team's official Twitter account, will have the chance to be on the field for the halftime concert. The team will tweet a location during the first quarter of the game and the first 150 fans to get to the location at the time indicated will watch the performance from the field.* The Rock of Ages halftime concert is presented by PepsiMax.

 The music that ignited a generation is heating up Broadway in the five-time-Tony-nominated Rock of Ages. The classic rock love story of the decade erupts into Broadway's best party, all to the sounds of such feel-good, sing-out-loud songs as "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is,' "Here I Go Again" and more. Mitchell Jarvis, one of the stars of Rock of Ages, will perform the National Anthem at the game.

Rock of Ages, now in its second smash-hit year on Broadway, recently opened to rave reviews in Canada, where it is currently playing the legendary Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, and recently launched its first National Tour starring Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis. Rock of Ages will also head Down Under to open at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne, Australia, in April 2011. The Rock of Ages halftime concert is being produced by BML-Blackbird Theatrical Services, which provides an array of services to the entertainment and event industries, including lighting, staging, audio and technical production services. BML-Blackbird's video department offers full-service video reinforcement and production services with a broad complement of equipment, including LED walls, full HD capabilities, projectors, camera packages and plasma screens. Thanksgiving night will be BML-Blackbird's third halftime event with the Jets.

The multi-platinum rock band Green Day performed live with the Broadway cast of American Idiot to open the Jets' regular season in their new stadium on Sept. 13. Opening day also featured Slash, former lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, performing in a tailgate concert featuring lead singer Myles Kennedy and special guests Nicole Scherzinger, lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls and Dancing with the Stars champion, and Jason Bonham pregame on the plaza just outside of the stadium.
