Jets GM John Idzik and his football administration continued their busy ways early this evening, inking their sixth draft pick of the 2014 class as QB Tajh Boyd officially signed before the start of Rookie Minicamp.
Boyd, who was the club's fourth Round 6 selection (No. 203 overall), is the ACC leader in total touchdowns (133) and he also became the first QB in ACC history with 30-plus TD passes in three seasons. A 6'1", 222-pounder, Boyd is expected to challenge Matt Simms for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart.
"(He had a) productive college career, really productive," said Jets senior director of college scouting Terry Bradway on Saturday. "And he really throws the ball well. We were there last spring and they were having spring practice and I was really impressed with how accurate he was throwing the deep ball, more than a lot of quarterbacks I've seen."
