Quarterback Sam Darnold is a finalist for this week's NFL FedEx Air Player of the Week award following his performance in the Jets' 24-22 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

The second-year signal-caller completed 71.9% of his passes (23-for-32) for 338 yards, three yards shy of tying his career high, two touchdowns and one interception for a 117.6 passer rating. The nomination is the Green & White's first of the season and comes after the 2018 No. 3 overall pick missed three games because of a bout with mono.

The 22-year-old Darnold is battling Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and Vikings QB Kirk Cousins.

To vote, you can visit NFL.com/FedEx or the NFL Twitter page with FedEx awarding a $2,000 donation in the winning players' names to The USO. Voting will conclude Thursday Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. ET and the winner will be announced later that afternoon.
