Pre-Game Report: Preseason Week 4 Jets vs. Eagles

The New York Jets (1-2) will close out their 2006 preseason o Friday, September 1, 2006, when they host the Philadelphia Eagle (2-2) at The Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. Kickoff is slate for 7:00 p.m.

Last Week
The Jets dropped their second preseason game, 13-7, at the hand of the New York Giants on Friday, August 25, 2006, at Th Meadowlands. The game was a physical contest that saw th Giants capitalize on an effective running game and take advantag of key Jets' miscues. One of the bright spots for the Green an White was a blocked punt by linebacker Darrell McClover, which h scooped up and returned 26 yards for a score. The Jets were onl able to capitalize on 25 percent of their third down conversion (four-of-16), "We can't take two steps forward and two steps back I want progress every single day, every single practice. It's goin to be hard to do, but it is what is necessary if we want to become winning football team," said Head Coach Eric Mangini following th game.

This year's preseason finale marks the sixth straight season i which the Jets and the Eagles have concluded their respectiv preseason slates against one another. Last season, Quarterbac Brooks Bollinger saw the majority of the team's action an capitalized with six-of-10 passing for 81 yards with one touchdow and a quarterback rating of 119.2 en route to the Jets' 37-14 win a Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
