LB Victor Hobson picked up his third career interception. His last was in October of 2004 at Miami. Hobson also had a fumble recovery, the first time in his career that he recorded both an interception and a fumble recovery in the same game. Hobson now has a career high of two season recoveries. Today was Hobson's 50th NFL game played.
WR Laveranues Coles picked up his 450th career reception during the first half. Coles ended the night with 5 receptions, giving him a career total of 453. Pennington hit Coles with a 58-yard touchdown pass, the longest of Coles' career. Coles also hit the 6,000 yard mark on the reception. Coles now has 6,035 total career yards, and 534 yards for the season.
Coles caught another Pennington pass early in the fourth and tied his career high of two TD catches in a game. This is his fourth career game with multiple touchdowns, his last was December 25, 2005 versus New England, with two. Coles now has scored nine touchdowns versus the Dolphins in his career, the most he has scored against any team.
Coles also captured his third 100-yard game of the season. With those yards, he also caught his best average of the season, 21.2, 106 yards on five receptions.
LB Bryan Thomas led the team in total tackles with 11 for the second time in as many weeks. Last week versus Jacksonville, Thomas led the team with 8 total tackles.
QB Chad Pennington played in his 50th career game today. His 58-yard touchdown pass to Laveranues Coles in the second quarter was his second longest touchdown pass of the season. Pennington in now 5-1 as a starter versus the Dolphins.
CB Andre Dysonrecorded his third interception of the season. It was the 20th of his career and first since Week One when he recorded two.
DT Rashad Moore forced his first career forced fumble in the third quarter when he stripped Miami running back Sammy Morris of the ball.
LB Ryan Riddle played in his first game as a New York Jet.
RB Leon Washington finished the game with 11 carries for 58 yards, a 5.3 yard average.
WR Tim Dwight made his first start as a New York Jet.
