P.Turner to Active Roster, J.Baker to P-Squad

The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Patrick Turner to the active roster and tight end Josh Baker to the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Turner (6'5", 220) was signed to the Jets' practice squad Sept. 4 after being waived the day before. He originally joined the Jets on Sept. 5, 2010, after being claimed off waivers from Miami.  Turner recorded his first two NFL receptions for a total of 26 yards last season. He entered the NFL as a third-round selection by the Dolphins in the 2009 NFL Draft and saw action in two games as a rookie. Turner finished his collegiate career with 138 receptions for 1,752 yards and 17 touchdowns in four seasons at USC.

Baker (6'3", 244) was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent July 27 and spent training camp with the team before being waived Sept. 3. He recorded six receptions for 75 yards during the preseason. Before the NFL, Baker played collegiately at Northwest Missouri and Delaware.  As a senior at NW Missouri he totaled 132 rushing yards and 838 receiving yards.
