NFL Network Freeview Underway

After more than three years in the making – NFL Network has finally made it to Broadway.

The 24-hour, year-round television channel dedicated to everything football, NFL Network is now playing widely in New York – and New Jersey, Kansas City, and throughout Texas.

After agreeing to terms last week with several major cable companies, NFL Network is in the midst of a six-day freeview of its channel to customers.

The free preview began at 6:00 AM ET on Sunday, December 24 and will continue through Saturday, December 30 at 8:00 PM ET.

"Viewers and critics throughout the country have consistently raved about the unique, high quality programming on NFL Network and now the viewers in the freeview markets will get to see what all the buzz is about," said NFL Network President & CEO Steve Bornstein.

Among the cable companies taking part in NFL Network's holiday freeview offer are:

· Blue Valley Telecommunications (Topeka, KS [Ch. 254])

· Cablevision (New York [Ch. 414] & New Jersey [Ch. 414])

· Cap Rock TV (Lubbock, TX [Ch. 2])

· Rainbow Communications (Topeka [Ch. 22] and St. Joseph, KS [Ch. 22])

· Suddenlink (Abilene [Ch. 38], Amarillo [Ch. 46], Lubbock [Ch. 55] and Midland, TX [Ch. 55])

· Time Warner Cable (Austin [Ch. 436], Dallas [Ch. 960], Kansas City [Ch. 176], Liberal (KS) [Ch. 24], New York [Ch. 199], New Jersey [Ch. 199], San Antonio [Ch. 946] and Waco [Ch. 124])

Programming to be featured during the remaining freeview window includes:

  • The inaugural Texas Bowl pitting Rutgers (10-2) vs. Kansas State (7-5) on Thursday, December 28 at 8:00 PM ET. (Live; Available in HD)
  • The Insight Bowl featuring the high-scoring Texas Tech (7-5) squad battling the Minnesota Golden Gophers (6-6) on Friday, December 29 at 8:00 PM ET. (Live; Available in HD)
