On the first Sunday in May, former Jets defensive lineman Marty Lyons helped raise close to $170,000 for the Marty Lyons Foundation, which will provide 30 families with a "wish of a lifetime."

The Jets Ring of Honor member completed the 40th annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour alongside 32,000 cyclists, 53 of which represented the MLF through Team Ernie. The ride consisted of 40 miles through the streets of New York City and stretched through all five boroughs.

Lyons, who has been the team's radio color commentator since 2002, founded the Foundation in 1982 in an attempt to fulfill special wishes of children from ages 3-17 who had been diagnosed with a terminal or life threatening illness. The foundation has 10 chapters in 13 states and has granted over 7,300 wishes.
