93.1 Amor to Air Jets-Colts Game

The Jets and 93.1 Amor, Spanish Broadcasting System, announced today a deal to air this weekend's AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts on 93.1 Amor (WPAT-FM) starting at 3 p.m. The game broadcast will be preceded by a half-hour Spanish language pregame show from 2:30–3 p.m.

If the Jets are one of the participants in Super Bowl XLIV, that game will also be broadcast on 93.1 Amor.

The broadcast team will remain the same as it has been throughout the 2009 season, featuring Clemson L. Smith Muniz, veteran Spanish radio personality and play-by-play announcer, and color analyst Alfredo Béjar.

"93.1 Amor is the No. 1 Spanish-language adult contemporary radio station in the New York Metro area," Frank Flores, chief revenue office–New York market manager, said of the agreement. "We are always interested in bringing to our listeners programming elements that are new and exciting. The Jets have not been in a championship game in a while, so the buzz about this game here in town is enormous and it doesn't hurt that they are led by quarterback Mark Sanchez, a proud Mexican American. Go Jets!"

Statistics show that close to 800,000 Hispanics in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area follow the Jets.
