The Jets have waived TE Will Tye and released RB Marcus Murphy from the practice squad.
The 6'2", 256-pound Tye had four receptions for the Jets in three games. Claimed off waivers in September, the Stony Brook product played in 29 games for the Giants in 2015-16. During those two seasons, Tye had 90 receptions for 859 yards and four touchdowns.
Murphy joined the Jets before the start of training camp after the 5'9", 195-pounder appeared in 16 games with the Saints in 2015-16. He averaged 22.8 yards as a kickoff returner in the preseason and was released on Sep. 3, but signed to the Green & White's practice squad the following day.
