Jets Release RB Bernard Pierce

The Jets have released veteran RB Bernard Pierce from injured reserve.

Pierce, a 6'0", 230-pounder from Temple, signed with the club on July 27 and was later placed on injured reserve after being slowed by a hamstring injury. He appeared in seven games last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars after spending his first three pro seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Pierce has rushed for 1,345  yards and 5 TDs on his 359 career attempts.
