The New York Jets have re-signed FB Andrew Beck.
Beck, who signed a reserve/futures deal with the Green & White on Feb. 7, 2025, played 17 games last season for the Jets. He was a key member of one of the NFL's top special teams units, appearing in a career-high 319 snaps (68%) and registering 4 tackles. He also played 110 offensive snaps (11%), hauling in 6 receptions for 45 yards with 2 TDs.
After he caught a touchdown in the Jets' season-ending loss to the Bills, Beck talked about the future.
"The guys up front, man, I mean, the consistency that that group's had ... you want to talk about a building block for the future," said Beck, 29, who could soon have been a free agent. "That O-line is going to be special, and it's a group that we can build around. And I think that that needs to be our mentality, build around the big guys up front and run the ball next year.
Beck (6-3, 255) played collegiately at Texas and initially signed with the Patriots as a UDFA in 2019. He then joined the Broncos and played four seasons in Denver, catching 14 passes for 159 yards while appearing in 549 offensive snaps and lining up in 809 snaps on special teams. In 87 career games with four teams -- Denver (2019-22), Houston (2023-24), Green Bay/Houston(2024) and the Jets (2025) -- Beck has 31 receptions for 259 yards (8.4 yds/rec) and 5 TDs.
The versatile Beck, who will turn 30 on May 15, has logged 1,008 offensive snaps and 1,330 special teams snaps.
After a preseason game last August against the Packers, HC Aaron Glenn said of his veteran fullback: "He's a really good player. That was [GM Darren Mougey's] first signing, to get him in. I'm a big believer in fullbacks in this league, because I don't think people play against them as much. So, I think that gives us an advantage."
