The Jets have claimed linebacker James Burgess and placed undrafted free agent running back Jalin Moore on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List.

Burgess played in three games last season with the Browns but was placed on injured reserved in October and eventually released following a pair of injuries. The 6'0", 230-pounder then signed with Miami's practice squad in December, rejoining the team that originally signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2016. The Louisville product has also had stints with the Chargers, Ravens and Jaguars, all in 2016.

For his career, Burgess has played in 17 games (11 starts) and racked up 55 tackles, four sacks and three pass defenses. He also forced one fumble.

Moore signed with the Jets earlier this month along with 15 other undrafted players. The Appalachian State product was the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 and led the conference in rushing in both that year and next year, but missed most of his senior campaign with an ankle injury. The 5'10", 212-pounder finished his collegiate career with 2,439 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 420 carries.
