In NJ, It's Time to Walk With Us to Cure Lupus

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, general manager John Idzik and head coach Rex Ryan invite you to help the Jets find a cure for lupus.

If you or someone you know has lupus or you simply want to make a difference in someone's life, form a team and raise funds for the Alliance for Lupus Research's annual New Jersey Walk With Us to Cure Lupus. Johnson is the National Walk Chairman.

The 5K (3.1-mile) walk will be held Saturday, May 18, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., and will include refreshments, entertainment and special appearances by Jets players and coaches. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk is at 10 a.m.

To join the Jets team, visit walk.lupusresearch.org. If you can't join us for the New Jersey Walk With Us to Cure Lupus, you can still support our team with a donation or by bidding on Jets items and experiences at nflauction.nfl.com for the month of May (Lupus Awareness Month).

To start your own team or to request more information on the walk, visit walk.lupusresearch.org/newjersey, email skirkpatrick@lupusresearch.org, or call the Alliance for Lupus research at 732-842-1607.

The Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) is a national voluntary health organization based in New York City that was founded in 1999 and is chaired by Robert Wood Johnson IV, a member of the founding family of Johnson & Johnson. By committing millions of dollars to significant lupus research every year and holding nationwide lupus walks to secure additional funding, the ALR is proactively battling lupus. The mission of the Alliance for Lupus Research is to find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or lupus), a debilitating autoimmune disease, by supporting medical research.
