Green & White at Cortland: Site, Time Change

Jets head coach Rex Ryan today announced changes to the original schedule for the Green & White scrimmage that will be held Thursday evening at SUNY Cortland.

Ryan said the scrimmage will be held on the grass field outside Cortland Stadium, where the team has practiced the past two days, not inside the stadium. And the scrimmage will begin at 6 p.m., not 7 p.m. Fans planning to attend should arrive early.

"In the past, things have been run differently [at the scrimmage], almost like a game without the tackling," the coach explained. "We actually do just the opposite. I want to tackle in this scrimmage. And everything we do is about the players' safety, so we want to go on the grass."

As for the starting time, Ryan said it was an illumination/field issue.

"We don't want to bring in lights, so let's practice on grass at 6 o'clock and get our scrimmage in [during daylight], and then we'll go from there," he said.

Whether you're coming to Cortland for the scrimmage or following from home, we'll be bringing you live Jets Radio coverage of the event with four men in the booth — with play-by-play voice Bob Wischusen and radio analyst Marty Lyons along with Eric Allen and Randy Lange. newyorkjets.com will be the only place you can hear this call.

The scrimmage Webcast will then be archived and available from our home page and from our multimedia page. And we'll also provide tweets at **twitter.com/nyjets** during the game and blogs and stories afterwards and during the day Friday.
