The New York Jets have waived guard Trevor Canfield. The announcement was made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Canfield (6'5", 307) initially joined the Jets during training camp on Aug. 4 last year, was waived Sept. 3, then returned as a member of the practice squad on Sept. 4 for the next two weeks before being released. He was signed to a reserve/future contract on Jan. 20 of this year.
Canfield entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection by Arizona. He spent time on the Cardinals' practice squad until he was signed by Seattle on Dec. 30, 2009, then was waived by the Seahawks on April 16, 2010. He then signed with the Detroit Lions on April 19 and was waived Aug. 26.
