FB Fui Vakapuna Joins Jets' Roster

The New York Jets have signed fullback Fui Vakapuna. The announcement was made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Vakapuna (6'0", 257) entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of Cincinnati in 2009. He joined the Arizona Cardinals after he was waived by the Bengals at the end of training camp on Sept. 5, 2009. Vapuna returned to Cincinnati when he was signed off of Arizona's practice squad Nov. 4 of that year but did not play in any games that season. He spent the 2010 season on the Bengals' injured reserve list due to a shoulder injury before spending a portion of last season on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad after he was waived by the Bengals on Sept. 3. His name is pronounced FOO-ee vah-kuh-POO-nuh.
