FanDuel: Jets Fantasy Week 14 Preview

Brandon Marshall’s 10 TD Receptions Ties Him for 3rd Most in the NFL

Despite being the "visiting" team at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, the New York Jets defeated the Giants in overtime. Their second consecutive victory further strengthens their hopes of clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 2010.

They must continue this good stretch of football against rookie QB Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans, who just surrendered 39 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

Which Jets players are you targeting for fantasy football contests on FanDuel in Week 14?

Taking aim on making the playoffs

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (FanDuel Price: $7,800)

Fitzpatrick has been great for New York all year, but he's in the midst of his best stretch this season. Over the past two weeks, the signal-caller has completed 66.67 percent of 87 pass attempts for 667 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions, good for two consecutive 25-plus FanDuel point performances.

He now faces a Titans team that's decent against the pass, but just allowed QB Blake Bortles to throw for 322 yards and five touchdowns. NumberFire projects him to score 18.51 FanDuel points, which would easily exceed his value given his Week 14 salary.

WR Brandon Marshall (FanDuel Price: $8,200)

With a 12-catch, 131-yard, one-TD line against the Giants, Marshall has collected at least 100 receiving yards and one score five different times. More importantly, his consistent production has allowed him to score double-digit FanDuel points eight times in his last 10 games.

Success in one-week fantasy football comes from opportunity, and Marshall gets plenty of chances to score points. He hasn't been targeted less than seven times in a game all season, which gives people confidence he's worth the $8,200 investment.

WR Eric Decker  (FanDuel Price: $7,300)

One could assume Decker wouldn't be as valuable at WR with Marshall getting so much attention, but he's ended up being more even valuable because of his quiet consistency throughout 2015.

Without Jace Amaro at tight end, the majority of Fitzpatrick's throws go to his top two wide-outs. Decker has been targeted less than seven times just twice all year, and while he didn't get his first 100-yard receiving day until Week 13, he's scored a total of eight touchdowns.

The Titans couldn't contain Allen Robinson even though he was the biggest (really, the only) threat against them in the passing game last week. With that in mind, numberFire is also projecting double-digit FDP performances from Marshall and Decker this week.

Clashing with the Titans

QB Marcus Mariota (FanDuel Price: $7,500)

He's shown signs of being a rookie at times, but Mariota has also flashed his potential on more than a few occasions. What's especially tantalizing for fantasy players is his ability to elongate plays and accumulate rushing yards.

He's fresh off a career-high 36.92-FDP performance thanks to 380 total yards (268 passing, 112 rushing) and four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing). The last mobile quarterback New York faced was Tyrod Taylor in Week 10. They limited him to just 12 yards on the ground, but Buffalo beat New York 22-17.

TE Delanie Walker (FanDuel Price: $6,100)

It's well known that having a good tight end is a rookie signal-caller's best friend. That's no different here with Mariota and Walker. He's scored three touchdowns in his last five games, but has also registered six-plus catches for 90-plus yards and at least 12 FDPs on four different occasions.

For a pass-catcher that's gotten targeted less than six times in a game only twice this season, this is the guy New York must shut down in the passing game to have success.
