8 Practice Takeaways from Final Prep for the Jags

Clemson Product Flashes, Big Mo Breaks Down the Huddle

**

Offensive POD: **Since the days of tackling during training camp are a distant memory, we often tend to forget about the runs. But RB Bilal Powell, who has been busy with Matt Forte battling a nagging hamstring, has had a number of electric carries during  camp. Powell took a handoff this afternoon and used his vision to find a hole on the right side before shifting gears, changing direction and exploding towards the middle of the field. He is a versatile performer who can make things happen with little space.

Defensive POD:The Jets are expecting big things out of second-year DL Leonard Williams in 2016. Williams has had a strong camp, consistently getting up the field on his rushes as he is targeting more sacks his sophomore campaign. On one pressure today, Williams got the edge on rookie T Brandon Shell and buzzed the tower before QB Bryce Petty released the ball. No "sacks" on the practice field, but Williams continues to bring the heat.

Mo Back in the Mix:Veteran defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson was activated off the PUP list today and he participated in individuals. Wilkerson, who watched team drills, broke down the defensive huddle upon his return. Head coach Todd Bowles did not rule Wilkerson out of Thursday's action. The Jets will continue to alter their defensive game plan to their opponent, but they certainly have the talent to play a lot of 4-man fronts in 2016.

Peake Time: Rookie wideout Charone Peake, a seventh-round pick from Clemson, has started to get more involved in the pass game. After a quiet start, Peake is making noise and he had a pair of scoring receptions today.

Notables: S Rontez Miles had a well-timed PD, preventing a red zone score from QB Geno Smith to TE Jace Amaro…. There were a couple of one-play red zone drives as Fitzpatrick delivered a rope to Brandon Marshall for a score while Smith got the second unit into the end zone on a catch and run from TE Zach Sudfeld… Rookie OLB Jordan Jenkins diagnosed well against a screen, stopping RB Dominique Williams at the line of scrimmage… Early in team, CB Marcus Williams ran step-for-step with Marshall and collected a PD… Darrelle Revis nearly had his first interception of camp in team drills, almost hauling in a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass with a diving attempt… Fresh off the PUP list, RB Khiry Robinson got some work in with the backs and watched team drills.

Decker Maintenance: WR Eric Decker ran routes in WR drills, but he sat out the team portion of practice with lower leg soreness. He expressed the need to rest it now and recover, so it's something he doesn't deal with later. Decker told the media he plans on playing Thursday.

DNP: LG James Carpenter (soreness), RBs Matt Forté (hamstring) and RB Bernard Pierce (hamstring),  S Ronald Martin, CB Dexter McDougle (hamstring), LB Trevor Reilly (leg), TE Wes Saxton and WR and Kyle Williams (leg).

PUP List: RT Breno Giacomini (back) and WR Devin Smith (knee).
