Wright: It's a Dream Come True

Wright signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May

It appeared as an ordinary special teams tackle on the play-by-play. But for rookie wide receiver Wallace Wright, his first quarter stop of punt returner Roscoe Parrish last Sunday was a first career NFL statistic and a dream come true.

"Words can't describe how happy I am to be here," Wright said. "Everything happens the way it's supposed to, and I'm just thankful for this opportunity the New York Jets and Eric Mangini have given me to be on this team."

New York Jets' LB Victor Hobson, 12.14

On playing in a dome…

It's a big challenge. They're going to be prepared to come out and play, and play hard. We have to be able to match their intensity and execute our game plan and go out there and take care of business.

On if his approach has changed…

The same approach goes along with going out there with the goal to win and that's still our goal, to go out there and win. We want to go out there, improve every week, get better, learn from the mistakes we've made and try to capitalize on other people's mistakes.

New York Jets' G Pete Kendall, 12.14

On if his approach has changed…

No, you guys are the only ones talking about having to win three-in-a-row and talking about the playoffs. In this building when you guys scatter, it's talking about one meeting, one play, one practice, one game. That's what we're talking about.

New York Jets' T D'Brickashaw Ferguson, 12.14

On Nick Mangold…

He's a good player, he does a lot of good things. Sure, we all have our struggles, but I think he does a very good job and I'm glad he's on the team.

On last week's game his biggest challenge of the year…

Last week was a game that I can learn a lot from, I can improve upon and I've done that. I've looked at it, but I realize that we're going against Minnesota this week and that is the focus for this week. You have to turn the page and as soon as the game is over, you look at what you can. I'm not harping on it; it's over.

New York Jets' DE Bryan Thomas, 12.14

On his best Christmas gift…

The Nintendo. I had the Atari, but after that, I got the Nintendo and that was probably the best one.

On his worst Christmas gift…

A shirt my dad gave me. I mean, it was terrible, it was probably the worst gift I ever got.

On the difference of playing indoors…

It doesn't make a difference, it's just about going out there and adjusting to the different situations that you have. Playing outside or in a dome, it doesn't really make a difference.

On avoiding seven losses…

We don't think like that. The main thing is just going out there and trying to game plan our opponent and play against the Minnesota Vikings.

On the Jets' success on the road…

It's just about going out there and executing the things we have to do. It's just a matter of executing when game time comes around.

New York Jets' WR Wallace Wright, 12.14

On begin part of the regular offense…

It's a dream come true. Words can't describe how happy I am to be here. Everything happens the way it's supposed to and I'm just thankful for this opportunity I've had that the New York Jets and Eric Mangini has given me to be on this team.

On Eric Mangini's system…

It's a perfect spot for me. Obviously, it's a different kind of approach than we had at North Carolina. I'm glad that coach Mangini is the type of guy that values hard work, because that is what I'm about, working hard and doing what I'm supposed to do.
