The Jets made two transactions today before taking the field for the first practice of their 2018 training camp, placing safety Rontez Miles on their Active/Physically Unable to Perform list and defensive lineman Courtney Upshaw on the Active/Non-Football-Injury/Illness list.
Miles (6'0", 203), the fourth-year Jet, suffered a knee injury early in the Organized Team Activity period. Upshaw (6'2", 272), the seventh-year veteran, signed with the Green & White on June 15.
Both players can return to practice when cleared. However, if Miles and Upshaw are not activated by final cutdown day Sept. 3, the Jets would then have to decide whether to place them on their respective Reserve lists, release them, trade them, or continue to count them on their Active list.
